Football players are born with potential. Some gone on to maximize it while don’t. We are going to look at the Top 4 players who never did.

4. ROBSON DE SOUZA: Better known as Robinho, is a player known for his dribbling skills. He made his debut for Santos in 2002 at the age of just 18, already been called the next Pele. Robinho didn’t quite live up expectations, left Santos for Madrid at just 21 in 2005, he had a productive first season but a disappointing second and an average third season before signing for Manchester City in 2008, he also had a very good first season scoring on his debut against Chelsea but fitness problems and some off field problems led to him been loaned back to Santos in January 2010. He looked to have recovered his lost touch at Santos scoring 11 goals in 23 matches. Upon returning to City he was sold to Ac Milan in July 2010 where Injuries and poor form have seen him been relegated to the bench and Milan are now looking to offload him.

3. JOSEPH JOHN COLE: Better known as Joe Cole is also another known for his good technical ability. Cole made his debut at just 17 for West Ham in 1998. He soon became a key player for the club even captained the club at the age of 21. Cole was hailed as the next best thing to happen to English football. He left West Ham for Chelsea in 2003 after the club was relegated. He soon established himself in a star-studded Chelsea team, playing a key role in the team winning back-back Epl titles but after an injury in the pre-season in 2006, Cole never fully recovered. He had further surgeries in 2007 and 2009, he Never quite became the player many hoped he will be. He moved to Liverpool in 2010, got sent off on his debut and never came back from that as well, he only played cup games or sub appearances. He was loaned to Lille in 2011 for a full season, where he did considerably well before coming back to Liverpool but poor performances and fitness problems lead to him been loaned to childhood club West Ham in Jan 2013, was later released from his contract (paid off) at Liverpool, he currently plays for West Ham.

2.ADRIANO LEITE RIBEIRO: Better known as Adriano also known for his powerful shots, he started his career with Flamengo where he made his debut at the age of 18 and was hailed as the new Ronaldo. However, he left for Inter Milan a year later but was loaned Straight to Florentina. He was then sold to parma in 2002 where he did very well developing a understand with Adrian Mutu. Inter bought him back in 2004 but in November 2007 he was sent to Brazil by Inter president Moratti for the second time in 18 months, there he went to Sao Paulo’s training center for alcoholism and physical health, a month later he signed for Sao Paulo scoring twice on his debut but in 2008 he was banned for two games for headbutting santos’s Domingos, he was later sent back to Inter a month ahead of schedule because of his problems, on returning to Inter, Adriano pick form and was doing very well for the club and in December 2008 Inter allowed him to return to Brazil for the winter, however, it didn’t prove a good move because his off field problems continued and in April 2009 after failing to return from International duty, he rescinded his contract with Inter stating that he wants to take a year long break from football but instead he signed for Flamengo a month later. He also scored on his debut. He came back to Europe with As Roma but his contract was terminated after just 7 months in which he made 7 appearances without scoring, he then signed for Corinthians but was also released a year later after series of irregular appearances and lack of interest. He won the Bidone d’or award a record 3 times (worst player in Italy).

1. RICARDO ANDRADE QUARESMA BERNARDO: Is known to have fantastic technical ability and exceptional dribbling skills but he is also known as the biggest talent waste of the 21st century. He started his career in Sporting Lisbon making his debut at the age of just 17 in 2001. He moved to Barcelona in 2003 and he refused to play for Barcelona so long as Rijkarrd remains the manager. He was later included in an exchange deal that saw Deco move to the Nou camp. It was at Proto that he played his best football scoring on his debut in the European super cup, also scoring in the Portuguese super cup and also in the intercontinental cup. He was sold to Inter in 2008, selfish play and poor performances saw him win the Bidone d’or in 2008 and was subsequently loaned to Chelsea in January 2009. His performances didn’t improve, and he was sold to Besiktas in 2010 but in 2011 he had a spat with his teammate Nihat for not passing the ball, another altercation with the coach after been subbed in March 2012 lead to him been suspended and was then released ( 1.4m was paid to him by the club) he signed for Al Ahli of Dubia in January 2013.
