The last few seasons have not been ideal for AC Milan once one of the best teams in the world now just an also ran when it comes to major competitions.
The fact that last season they finished 2nd only to a mighty unbeaten Juventus team may have brought hope to the Milan fans that this could be the season they finally rejoin the elite teams not just in Italy but in Europe. This has not been the case however as they find themselves in 7th place and a massive 17 points of league leader Juventus, although there are only 18 games gone Milan’s challenge to win the Serie A has been easily derailed if there ever was one, and now they face a fight to just get in the top 4 and find that precious Champions league spot that seems to be the light of Milan’s season all too much in the last couple of years.
Juggled with the fact that Potential star Alexandre Pato could be on the move to Corinthians this January and the season gets even worse.
BUT one hope for a future in Europe top competition may lie on Stephan EL Sharaawary’s young shoulders, the Italian has been a revelation for the Rossoneiri this season and if he leaves then this might just condemn AC Milan to another 5 years of mediocrity.
Milan have at least done something good in shifting out the older players in the summer with Nesta, Seedorf and Gattuso departing the club after serving a long time at the fallen giants.
Milan may be turning this season round with 4 wins in their last 5 games but can they be as consistent over the next 3 years i think not.
